Visual Mapping

Landgrafenschloss Fest

Project Concept

A Chillout Lounge transforms the Klein Rittersaal into an immersive audiovisual retreat where architecture, memory, and sound merge into a living artwork. At the center of the installation is a custom video mapping piece created especially for the festival, built from visual motifs and structural elements of the historic Landgrafenschloss.

Photographic Study

Original photographic studies of interior details — ornaments, surfaces, geometries, and textures — were captured on site and translated into animated visual sequences. These materials were then transformed into layered motion graphics and spatial projections that align precisely with the architecture of the hall, revealing hidden patterns and reinterpreting the castle’s visual language through light and movement.

Development
Technical Structure

The visual system is designed as an audio-reactive environment: electronic music and electro beats directly influence animation parameters such as rhythm, intensity, and transformation. Sound becomes a structural driver, allowing each session to evolve dynamically rather than repeat as a fixed loop.

The Chillout Lounge offers visitors a calm yet stimulating atmosphere — a place to pause, observe, and drift inside a dialogue between heritage and contemporary media art. The setup includes DJ performance, sound system, projection technology, and custom programming for the real-time audio-reactive sequences, creating a continuously responsive audiovisual space.
